Your writing in trade magazines

Members can now have their writing published in industry magazines via the RAIC, at no cost.

Please read the criteria for each publication carefully. We look forward to seeing RAIC members in print and online!

Sustainable Building & Design magazine is offering RAIC members an opportunity to have a LEED(R) or otherwise sustainable project highlighted as an editorial feature.

RAIC members are invited to submit text and a variety of professional, high-resolution images complete with credit and captions.

The text should be presented in an educational manner, so as to share innovations and unique technology with peers looking to advance the movement. It must be written from a non-promotional standpoint (i.e. not promoting the firm) but focused on the project from an objective perspective.

Word count will vary depending on the placement of the article. The text may be submitted in English or both English and French.

To determine eligibility, please send a short description of the project and one or two low-resolution images to Maria Cook, RAIC manager of communications and advocacy at mcook@raic.org.

Do you like to write and have something to say about architecture or the architectural profession? The RAIC and Award magazine are giving members a one-time opportunity to publish a guest column.

The topic should be related to the field of architecture within Canada and the writer should be regarded as an expert on the subject. Please note this is not a platform for promoting one’s firm or architectural projects. The language is English.

Suggested topics include:

  • Regulations/Standards impacting the sector
  • Green movements within the sector and their impact
  • New technologies that are driving the sector forward
  • New studies or research projects
  • New associations/bodies that are being developed
  • Relationships with government

The first step is to submit a two-paragraph description of your idea for a column to Maria Cook, RAIC manager of communications and advocacy at mcook@raic.org.
